Shake Shack Among Businesses Planned For New Hillsboro Retail Development

Portland Business Journal

December 4, 2023

Shake Shack is one of several new tenants announced for the new Reed’s Crossing Town Center retail development, under construction in Hillsboro.

Gramor Development started construction on the 111,000-square-foot shopping center at the intersection of Cornelius Pass Road and Southeast Blanton Street. Tenants will start opening shop in autumn 2024.

In a news release, Gramor President Barry Cain said, “South Hillsboro continues taking shape with tremendous growth due to its convenience of proximity to large employers such as Intel, Nike and Salesforce, as well as access to transportation and high quality of life.”

Among the more intriguing tenants is Shake Shack, which has made a strong push into Oregon since opening its first location at Cedar Hills Crossing in 2021. It has since opened restaurants in downtown Portland and at the Bridgeport Village in Tualatin/Tigard.

“Shake Shack is excited to bring its delicious burgers and fries to Reed’s Crossing Town Center,” noted Andrew McCaughan, Shake Shack’s chief development officer. “Since our first Oregon Shack in 2021, the community has welcomed Shake Shack energetically. We are really drawn to vibrant neighborhoods whose residents and visitors value quality food using premium ingredients like Reed’s Crossing and we’re looking forward to bringing the Shake Shack experience to life there.”

Reed’s Crossing Town Center tenants, which will begin to open in fall 2024, include:

  • Market of Choice (announced in 2022)

  • Shake Shack

  • Wells Fargo Bank
